Cookie Containers

If I have to choose homemade cookies over store-bought cookies, I would choose homemade every time.

Some days, I’m just not in the mood to bake them and My Man really wants something sweet. That’s saying a lot since he’s really not into sweets. So, he goes to the store and buys some.

He also has a way of doing that when I have plans to bake some the next morning.

He brings home this package of cookies and puts them in the cookie jar, then throws away the packaging. Me, trying my best to do my best in recycling, take the plastic liner the cookies came in to at least take it to be recycled into something new. As, I was putting it into the bag to be recycled, I thought to myself, “Jayne, how could you use this?”

Not really, I got some ideas off of the internet and ran with it. Here’s what I came up with.

WP_20130724_002 I use it by my sewing machine to hold bobbins, measuring tapes, needles, safety pins, odd and end stuff needed for sewing.

WP_20130724_005 I need more of these. Right now, all my make-up is in one box and I have to dig through to find what I want. As, soon as we eat some more cookies, I’m replacing my box with these. Look how nicely it holds my lipstick, which I rarely wear, by the way.

WP_20130724_006 It also holds and divides the rest of my make-up and I can easily find what I am looking for. I rarely wear this either, but when I do I like to be able to find it!

WP_20130724_008It sorts out the hair bows and bobby pins (I do have more than two) and those clippy things.

WP_20130724_009 Back in the sewing room, I could use it to divide out all the different size elastic I have.

This cookie container is deeper. It could be used to:

  • hold condiments when having people over for hamburgers and hot dogs
  • for ice cream toppings
  • salad toppings
  • taco toppings
  • help small children with learning to sort things. (colors, shapes, sizes)

That last one is the teacher in me.

The list could go on and on. Let me know what you thought of! I’d love to hear your ideas.

Hearing from you makes my day!
