Red, White and Blue! Flowers and Flags

I am super excited today! That’s because I am starting my Red, White and Blue series. I am also going to have my first give away during this series! Let’s get started!

What better place to start off the Red, White and Blue than at the front porch.

IMG_1110Welcome to my home!

I didn’t use banners (although I do wish I had some and may get some yet). I used flowers to decorate with. Flowers and flags! Lots of flowers and flags.

Six hanging baskets sway in the wind to greet you with a patriotic hello! Each basket is beginning to  spill over with white petunias and red salvia. Each also has its own flag waving proudly in the wind.

IMG_0834More red Salvia and some white alyssum greet you at the front door. At least the alyssum is supposed to be white. It’s just about to bloom!

IMG_1109 I made the flag pallet last year. You can click on the link to see how I did it.

IMG_0835The red geranium and its flag are waiting for you by the doorbell! Can’t wait till this is bigger and has more flowers for an even bigger red hello!

There are so many creative ways to decorate the porch all red, white and blue. I just love these!

If only MoJo wouldn’t tear up the pillows I would love to have some on my swing. Maybe next year when he is out of the puppy stage! Hopefully we will have some railing too!

I love the wreath! I just noticed the bird house by the door. Great minds do think alike!

Now I’m going to keep an eye out for an old chair!

Just a little over the top for me, but plenty of inspiration! I love inspiration!

I love to decorate the porch so that whoever comes to my home feels welcome. So many times we are the porch to Jesus. What they see in me decides how they may feel about accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. I never know when someone might come to my porch. My character is all they have to go on. Will it be warm and inviting or will it be cold and uninviting? Just something to think about.

I hope you enjoy my Red, White and Blue series. With the Fourth of July just around the corner, I want to share some ideas to help you celebrate! I am planning on sharing more decorations, recipes and crafts to do with the kids. There is just so much fun with Red, White and Blue!

Let me know if you have any thought or suggestions on something to share! I’d love to hear about it!

Love ya,

Jayne!

A very special Thank You to the wonderful people who allow me to share this in their blog. You should go check them out.

Great analogy. Your entrance is lovely and inviting. I never considered decorating out front, only a wreath on the door, but then, we don’t have a porch, either.

I’ve been contemplating a front porch “do over” as my daughter has far outgrown many of the items we keep on it. I also have lovable fur babies who enjoy making a mess of flower pots, pillows, an other decor within their reach. I will have to get creative and outwit them! As always, thank you for the inspiration, lovely photos, and beautiful analogy.

Thank you! You should see the side of the porch. NO, no you shouldn’t! lol We still have so much we need to do both on the inside and outside of the house. The side is full of stuff that needs to be thrown away, including a baby swing that is only 22 years old. haha.
