Fireworks

These are a simple and easy centerpiece to make. The directions to these are also listed under Tissue Paper Mums but with a couple of different steps.

What You Need

  • Crape paper or computer paper or construction paper or tissue paper. I found crape paper or tissue paper is easiest to work with.
  • Skewers (I found a package of 100 for a $1 at the dollar store.)
  • Scissors
  • tape

Cut a strip of paper 2 x 18 inches long.

I folded the paper into thirds for easier and faster cutting. If your child is cutting I recommend that you don’t fold it. Cut thin (about 1/8 inch) strips about 1/4 inch from edge.  I drew a line for Boo so she would know where to stop cutting.

Wrap uncut edge around the skewer and then wrap a length of tape  around the the paper to hold it onto the skewer.

Fluff out the firework with your fingers to make it look like it is “exploding”.

Place in a bottle filled with sand or marbles and place in the table.

Now, go watch some real fireworks explode and enjoy your 4th!

Happy Fourth of July!

Love ya,

Jayne

Hearing from you makes my day!
