Fall Welcome

This is an easy craft you and your children can do together. Here’s how I did it.

Whatcha Need

  • Card stock
  • Ribbon or string
  • Hole Punch
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Assorted things from your yard, dries beans or peas

Putting It All Together

Cut card stock into squares of about 4×4 inches. Mine was already cut so I could skip this step. Yea, me!!

In pencil write the letter on the card. I chose to spell out “welcome”, but you could spell out “autumn” or “hello” or anything you want.

Trace line with glue. I choose to only work one line at a time. Less messy that way.

For the “W” I used sticks broken to fit. I just laid it on top of the glue. I let the stick “decide” how they were going to lay down. That was I wasn’t fighting them to lay flat.

I used sticks, dries beans and peas, acorns, bark and pods from the Crape Myrtles in my yard.

Next punch 2 holes at the top. You can see mine in the pictures above. Then sting the ribbon or string through.

I taped the ribbon to the back so the cards would stay in place.

Hang in place

The only change I would make Is to use darker beans on the “L”. Can’t see it too well. Sorry. Oh, and I don’t suggest hanging this out on a windy day. Mine blew down. The remnants of Hurricane Lee are blowing through. Not a good day to hang this. Maybe I’ll find a place inside.

Hearing from you makes my day!
