I have been sewing like crazy this week! All I have thought about this week is sewing. I have company coming this weekend and I really need to clean my house, but all I can think about is sewing!
I love crafting, sewing and decorating. So much so, I have an crafting business, Over the Fence. That’s what I have been sewing for all week. I have been working on appliqués for clothing.
I haven’t done appliqués in a while, so I am out of practice. I’m also not using my machine and the stitching isn’t as tight as I like. Still, even with my machine they do not look as good as my friend’s, Danielle. She has one of those expensive, fancy embroidery machines. I’m jealous!
Her machines make the stitching look so much neater than mine. See the difference?
She was sweet and let me borrow the designs.
I’m not complaining about mine. I like mine too, I just wish I had her machine! Or mine back! And a lot more practice!!!
A lot more practice!!!
And I need to use a hoop next time to keep the material stretched, so it doesn’t gather and bunch up.
I was thinking about how mine don’t look as “professional” as Danielle’s and then I thought about how I try to imitate Jesus. Although I may try my best to look like Him, I do fall way short! I might not look bad, but my work doesn’t show the same love as He showed, or the same compassion, or kindness. I may think I am showing the love of Jesus when I’m really being judgmental. I may be helpful or giving, but out of pride and not love.
This doesn’t mean I am to stop trying to imitate Jesus. It just means I need to repent from the attitudes He has convicted me of and I need more practice.
I need a lot more practice.
Note: I didn’t mean for this to be an advertisement, but since I do have your attention and if you are interested in anything I have at Over the Fence, just comment below the picture of the item or leave me a message. I’ll get back to you ASAP. The week after Thanksgiving I will have Christmas stockings and tree skirts and unusual nativity scenes.
