I Love My Work

I do apologize to my faithful readers! I haven’t been posting as much as I used to. I have missed it! I have missed you!

I do have a good reason for not posting as much! I have been sewing like crazy. I have a business in Facebook I call Over the Fence. I sew all kinds of things for people. Lately, I have gotten a good bit of business. Well, a good bit for me. I hope to get even more.

Some of my work…

bubble dress 001I love this Bubble Dress! Wish I could wear something like this!

easter dresses 007Hoppy Easter!!! That’s what is on the material! I think I may try a grown up version of this for myself, in different material of course!

easter dresses 001I love little girl clothes. They are so comfortable and cute!!!

headrests 002My first steering wheel cover. No, my second. The first was a practice one and didn’t do too well!

headrests 006Matching headrests for the steering wheel. This same lady ordered a purse from the same material. She got her money’s worth!

headrests 007All kinds of storage bags! These are going to Wyoming!

headrests 009So are these!

headrestsAnd these!!!

bubble dressThese are mine!!! But, I am making another one like the one on the right for someone! She wants a steering wheel cover, too!

I’m also making a dress like “Hoppy Easter” out of different material with matching shoes! I am so excited about the shoes!!! I’ve never made shoes before! I love making new stuff!!!

I’m not meaning to boast about myself here. I am boasting about how great God has been bring me work that I love to do! I would have none of this if it were not for Him!!!

All of this has been going right along with what our pastor has been preaching lately. In Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 Solomon says, “A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?”

Oh, there are parts to my job I don’t like. Zippers. And buttonholes. Not my favorites! In His grace, God helps me with those and makes my job bearable, so I thank Him for zippers and buttonholes.

Over the weekend, I am going to sit down with God and ask for direction on how to better organize my time so that I can post every weekday. March is going to be crazy because Dillon has track meets this month. Two meets every week! I’ll give you three guesses who volunteered to do the concession stand. YEP! Me!! What was I thinking?? Seven home meets!!! What was I thinking???

My point is…enjoy your work. It is a gift from God. If you aren’t enjoying your work, seek God out and ask if there is something else you could do. Maybe He wants you to change career paths, or just go to a different department where you are. Maybe He wants you to open your own business. Scary, I know, but He is already there and has all the details worked out, even if you don’t. He will lead you. Be strong and courageous and move into that new land. Go for it!!!

Love ya!!!

I’m glad to hear you are enjoying this season with your sewing machine. :)

  2. Jayne,

Those sewing projects look great! I like the bags most of all, I think. You should do a giveaway on your site here someday for something you make. That would be fun. :)

May your concession stand times at the next home meets go smoothly too. I remember home meets from swim team for my kids years ago.

Re your comment on my post “Grimy Hands and a Potter’s Wheel,” what a fun analogy through your cross-stitch. Thank you. I’m glad we’re in the hands of an Artist!

What a great idea!!! I haven’t done a give away in a while!!!
I loved reading about the potter and the clay. The whole time I could envision God working on me to make me the vessel He wants me to be. Thanks you for the reminder!!

Hearing from you makes my day!
