Oven Fried Pork Chops

pork chops

My mom used to make the best fried pork chops. All she did was sprinkle some salt and pepper on them. But they were so gooood. I tried to make them and my family didn’t like them. So sad!!

I really wanted some fried pork chops and ran across two recipes that I put together. The results…my family likes them! I made fried okra, another family favorite. I cheated the okra. I bought it frozen. My homemade fried okra isn’t that good. I didn’t use much color did I? My men didn’t care. They were just hungry!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Bisquick
  • 12 Saltine crackers, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Pork boneless lion chops, 1/2 inch thick

How To Make It

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Coat a 13 x 9 inch baking dish with cooking spray and heat in oven while getting chops ready. This is important to keep the chops from sticking to the dish.

In a plastic container or zip lock bag, mix Bisquick,

crushed saltines,

seasoned salt,

and pepper.

Mix them all together. I like using the plastic container. I can work with the chops better.

In another plastic container  mix together egg and water.

Dip the chop in the egg mixture. Do both sides.

Then coat with Bisquick mixture. Again  do both sides.

For extra thick crust, redip in egg mixture and again in the Bisquick mixture.

I had some spots that didn’t cover very well so I patted some on the chop.  This makes your fingers messy!

Place chops onto preheated baking dish.  Bake for 10 minutes.

Flip the chops over. Spray the dish again before laying the chop down again. Helps with sticking. Bake for another 10 minutes or until chops are slightly pink inside.

Enjoy!
