Cheeseburger Casserole

I like meals that are cheap and quick to make. This casserole fits into both of those categories. And It is yummy!!!


  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 can biscuits or homemade biscuits
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (I used sharp cheddar) or sliced cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Brown the ground beef and drain. Ok, yes, you have seen this picture before. I forgot to start taking pictures until after I had done the next step. Sorry :(

Add tomato sauce, ketchup and salt and pepper and mix well. Let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Put 1/2 the meat mixture into a baking pan sprayed with cooking spray.

Top with cheese. You can use sliced cheese if you don’t have shredded. Add second half of meat and top again with cheese.

Top with biscuits. I had 3 small cans of biscuits and 2 men to feed so I used all 3 cans.

Thank goodness I saw this. Make sure you get all the paper off of the biscuits before baking! lol :)

Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes of until biscuits are golden-brown. Make sure they are cooked thoroughly on the bottom. Nothing worse than soggy biscuits!

This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled for larger families. Had Will and Kathy been home I would have tripled it!

The meat mixture can be prepared ahead of time. Just keep refrigerated.
