It seems that with the advent of dry erase boards in just about every classroom now, chalkboards are becoming a thing of the past. Long gone are the days of having the classroom job of beating the erasers. I loved doing that!

I have noticed. lately, that chalkboards are making somewhat of a comeback, but in a different way. In the home.

Kelly, at Talk of the House has this one in her home.

Simply Four Us really went all out on this fall chalkboard!

This one from My Fabuless Life is perfect for our 30 Days of Thanks challenge!

Chalkboards are even being used as place mats! Too cute!

Mine is going to be used thought out the Challenge! Each day I am going to write on my board a characteristic of God I am thankful for. There are, of course, way more than 30, but there are only 30 days in November!

I have to admit that this is not a real chalkboard. It’s just a piece of black poster board cut to fit a frame. I really wanted to get this post up today, so I had to improvise. I am going to get My Man to build me one. Or two!

I like the idea of chalkboards because you can change the picture without really changing the picture. You don’t have to be able to draw. Heaven knows I certainly can’t. Just fill it with words. You can change the look anytime you want. Seasonally or even daily! I have seen some that list what the weekly menu or schedule is. So many uses for the good ol’ chalkboard.

And your kids can have the job of beating the erasers!

Hearing from you makes my day!
