It seemed that as soon as the first of September hit, everyone was decorating for Fall. Or do you call it Autumn? Anyhoot, it was still in the 90’s, high 90’s at that, here in Georgia and did not feel like fall at all!
The temperature has finally cooled down…well, maybe not today with a high of 85, but this weekend will be perfect Fall weather…and I’m finally getting on board with the Fall decorating.
I have decided not to decorate for Halloween. At least not for now. I may change my mind. I can do that, right? I definitely want to add more to the mantel, but it’s a start. Maybe some mums and some real pumpkins. I have a basket of pine cones and a bucket of sticks, for starting a fire, at the base of the fireplace, but I really need to clean it before I show you that. haha
I love this wire pumpkin. You’ll never guess where I got it. Our local food bank. I went with a friend from church to get food for our food pantry. They had these wonderful fall decorations. I snagged them right up!
MM’s bottles are all over the house! One I filled with acorns from our front yard oak tree and the tall one is holding the faux flowers I got from the Dollar Tree. You can see them in the first picture.
The Mason ring pumpkin I made last year.
And of course the Candy Corn. My oldest came home last weekend to work. One of the first things he said was, “Where are you hiding the candy corn? I know you have some!” Actually, I didn’t! GASP! I promptly went and got some! And yes, the jar was full!
I have more decorating to share, but it will have to wait or this post will just be way too long!
You wouldn’t think that what I did in this room would have taken me all that long to do. For some reason, it takes me forever to decorate a room. I have to look at pictures to get some inspiration, then I have to figure out how to make what I have work. Sometimes I have to make what I need and that takes longer than I think! Why is that? Did I mention forever?
God takes His sweet time redecorating my heart. He works a little everyday changing un-Christlike attitudes and beliefs. He could do it in an instant, but I wouldn’t appreciate the change as much. If I don’t appreciate the change, then I don’t tell others about it and He gets no glory. Isn’t that what it’s all about? His Glory! He has been working out His plan for me since before the beginning of time. Let that soak in for a while.
More changes to show you are coming, both in the heart and home.
