I came across this adorable center piece by Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict.
For me, it’s one of those “now why didn’t I think of that” projects. Then again, I wasn’t wired to think of such simplicity. I was wired to improvise.
So, improvise I did!
Minus the pumpkins.
I was really pleased with it.
Confidence in my work isn’t the norm for me. I usually look at someone else’s work and like it better than mine. The Lord has really been working at building my confidence. I’m learning, through small projects like this, that I am pretty good at improvising and making things my own. Is there an area where you don’t feel confident? I’ll be praying that the Lord will help you to build confidence in that area.
Ok, let me show you how I made my center piece.
- Basket or some container
- Moss to cover the foam
- Flowers and leaves (mine are faux. Don’t you just love that word…Faux? I try to say it with a sophisticated tone.)
- Wire cutters
- Sticks/small tree limbs
- Pine cones/ sweet gum balls/ acorns
Putting It All Together
Can you believe that I actually thought about how I was going to get this in after I had put in the leaves? Then I thought “just put it in before.” Duh, Jayne!
Off subject here. When we were building our house and MM and his dad were putting in the wire. They were in the attic part. No sheet rock up yet. MM asked me to hand him the wire cutters. I handed them to him like you are supposed to, with the handles facing him. As he grabbed them, he squeezed them shut on my finger. Note to self, make sure they are closed before handed them off.
Sorry. You probably didn’t want to hear that gruesome story. It did hurt though. Bad! Bled for a while, too. Sorry. There I go again. I’ll stop rambling now.
I thought I was through, but something wasn’t quite right. I looked at Debbie’s center piece again and noticed she had put in some sticks. Just what I needed.
MM said it was purtimous. That means really pretty. That certainly boosted my confidence!
Off to do another confidence boosting project!
A huge thank you to all who allow me to join their link parties!
