New to Us Couches

A lady I have known for a while is moving.  In this move she is really scaling back. In this scaling back, she is giving some of her furniture away.

This past weekend MM, myself, Little One and her hubby and his parents all went to her home to get some of that free furniture. Little One and hubby just moved into a duplex and needed some place to sit besides the floor. Mine, now, are wing back and I don’t really like recovering wing back anything.

Can you believe I didn’t take a single picture of our trip? I can. I just don’t think about such things.

Oh, and my oldest son and his sweet girlfriend met us there to help, then came home for the weekend!

will and risha Sunday, my in-laws took us to eat at Zaxby’s. After that, MM and I went to Lowe’s to buy some canvas drop cloths. I’m going to use them to recover the couch.

So, Little One and I have “new to us” couches!

IMG959504  These are Little One’s. It’s matching sofa, love seat and chair. She also got the coffee table from her.

IMG_1518These are mine.  I also got a coffee table. It’s not in the picture. The one you see here is an old box MM found while surveying one time. He made the top for it and we added legs.

I have to admit, I’m a little excited that my youngest is headed back to college in a week. I will miss him greatly, but I am so ready to get started on the couches and redoing this whole room.

I have to brag a little on him! He worked hard this summer installing things in and upgrading chicken houses. Days were long, sometimes from 8 in the morning to 10 at night. But he stuck it out and now is the proud owner of a “new to him” truck!

I have something else to admit. I am excited about all the redos God is doing on me. He is rearranging some attitudes and cleaning out some bad habits. The work is hard and gets pretty dirty at times, but it is all worth it.

I can’t wait to get this room done and show you the end results. Now, if I can just make it look in reality like it does in my head.

Do you have any “new to you” projects? I would love to hear about them. I’d love to hear how God is working on you! It’s so exciting to see His work!

Love ya,

Jayne

P.S. I haven’t said it in a while. Thank you all so much for taking time out of your day to read my little blog. It really does mean so much to me!
