For the Heart
I’ll admit it. I don’t take a shower everyday. I just don’t get that hot and sweaty.
I do wash my hair everyday. I keep shampoo and conditioner under the kitchen sink. It’s much easier to wash your hair in the kitchen sink, than in the bathroom sink.
Yesterday, I did do some outside work and got hot and sweaty, so I did take a shower. I’m sure all of you are singing praises for that!
Anyway, I’m out of conditioner in the bathroom, so I had to get the bottle from the kitchen. After I showered, I immediately took the bottle out of the shower and put it on the counter so I wouldn’t forget to take it back downstairs. I tend to forget a lot!
After I dried off I reached for the new bottle lotion to moisturize my very dry skin. I squirted some into my hand and started rubbing it in. I noticed how watery this new lotion was. (It was not my usual brand.) It didn’t take near as much as my old lotion. I put it on my back, tummy, arms and then it hit me. It wasn’t the lotion at all! It was the conditioner! I had put conditioner on 90% of my body! I was smelling like Juicy Green Apple instead of Aloe Cool and Fresh.
Don’t judge me! I put the conditioner right next to the lotion on the counter. Tell me you wouldn’t have made the same mistake!
Well, at least I smelled good! I considered myself a fragrant offer to the Lord.
You know, when we give to help others, our giving is like a fragrant offering to the Lord. Our giving can cleanse a weary soul and help it to feel refreshed and new. Just like the conditioner gives bounce to my hair (like my natural curly hair needs any help), giving can put a bounce in our step and the step of those we help. It can make them feel loved and give them hope. When we tell them that Jesus can wash away their sins and make them a new creation and they accept this, a freshness just seems to fill the air and makes life smell sweet. Nothing is more pleasing to God than one coming to know Him.
So, go ahead and grab that “bottle of giving” and spread it on to others. Let’s make the air smell fresh and clean with God’s love.

For the Home
Since we are talking about smelling good, I found some natural ways to make our homes smell good too. These are cheap and easy to do. Some even make good gifts. Hope you enjoy them!
