Youth Sunday

*I do apologize if you got a couple of e-mails about me posting. My Man was uploading a plugin to run the video below and we had to post a couple of time to figure it out. Sorry.

This past Sunday was Youth Sunday at our church. It was a great service. After church, the youth came over to our house and had lunch and played tag. That was hilarious!

WP_20130113_001The Praise Band from Lexington Baptist lead us in worship. The drummer, Stewart, had been sick all week with the flu. The band called Nicole to fill in. Nicole is something else. She is one of the biggest redneck, country girls I know and can tear a drum set up!

Nicole had let Dillon borrow some bongo drums when his youth at Clouds Creek had Youth Sunday back in…I can’t remember, but a few months ago. She needed the drums back to play for Lexington.

Confused? Dillon started going to a different church for Wednesdays, then on Sundays. I’m just thrilled that he is going somewhere that preaches God’s word.

Dillon met Nicole at Lexington to give her the drums and just stuck around for practice. Of course being a drummer himself, Dillon couldn’t help but beat out a rhythm on his shoes. The band asked twice if he wanted to join. On the third time he finally said yes. Stewart was feeling better and joined in, too. Three drummers! They were having a blast!

Sorry I didn’t get any pictures or video on them playing.

After the music, the Clouds Creek youth performed a powerful skit. I have posted it below. Please give it time to download. It may take a couple of minutes but it is well worth the wait. In the meantime, find a tissue, hankie, something. You will need it.

Dillon played Jesus. So proud of him.

I hope you enjoyed that. May the lord help you in any way you need today.

Love ya,

Jayne

I love it when the youth take over the service, filling in for greeters, ushers, music–one Sunday one of the youth (with mentoring from the pastor) did the sermon. They are our future leaders, and I think we’re going to be in good hands.

I wish they had let one of youth “preach” I love to hear their perspective on things.

“A child shall lead them” :)
