Amazing Grace

For the Heart

I like to picture it this way.

Me…I a piece of dust. I mean I see myself the size of a piece of dust.

God’s grace…it is a blanket the size of the universe!

Whenever I really need to feel His grace, I picture God lifting up that blanket up over His head, letting the air catch it and spread it out so that it softly falls over me and covers me, giving me the warmth of His love, the comfort of protection and knowing that I am all wrapped up in the sufficiency of His grace.

His grace is so undeserved, yet He shows to to us everyday. My sins are so great, yet He in His grace has forgiven me and sees me as righteous and justified. His grace helps me each and every day to overcome the sins that seem to so entangle my life.

His grace has brought healing to our family that I thought would never come.

His grace has provided for us when I thought we would lose everything.

His grace has taught me more about myself and how immature of a Christian I really am and that I have so much more to learn.

His grace allows me to deal with the “thorn in my flesh”. (I’m beginning to have those aches and pains you get as you get older.)

His grace allows me to call Him Father and to say with affection”I love you, Daddy!”

His grace makes it impossible for me to list all the ways I have experienced it.

His grace is His power made perfect in my weakness.

Today’s challenge, spend some time mediating on His grace and how you have experienced it. How would you describe it to someone who has never experienced it, although we all have. Some just don’t know it. Write a prayer or a poem to God thanking Him for His amazing grace.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12″9-10

  1. Praising the Lord! Amen

  2. very well put…! while reading, I was reminded of when I was young and living with my Grandmother and times when I was sick, she changed the sheets while I was still in bed…I can recall this very same feeling as the sheet floated over me! It is such a great feeling to have God’s grace isn’t it?

Hearing from you makes my day!
