Crock Pot Sirloin Steak

Crock pot Steak I sometimes like to go to the grocery store and see what meat they may have at “reduced for quick sale.” I get some pretty good choices of meat for a great price. The only thing I don’t like about doing this is that you have to get to the store fairly early in the morning to get the best selection. I am not a morning person. So, I don’t do this as often as I should.

I did get in the swing of things the other morning and got myself to the store. One of the meats they had were a couple of sirloin steaks. I grabbed those babies right up. A couple of steaks on the grill would be good.

Just one problem. My Man had to work the weekend I wanted to grill. I’m not a great griller. He on the other hand is great at grilling. I really wanted my steak and potatoes. I decided to try them in the crock pot.

Whatcha Need

  • Sirloin steak (or any cut of steak really)
  • Potatoes, cubed(1 medium potato per person)
  • Carrots, cut into small rounds (as many as you think everyone will eat)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Italian Seasoning (optional)
  • Water

Putting It All Together

Put in the crock pot the cubed potatoes. You can peel them if you want. I was kind of lazy that day.

IMG_0226Then add the carrots. You could put in some diced onions as well.

IMG_0231and pepper.

I am so sorry the pictures are blurred. I messed with the settings on the camera and forgot to set them back.

I am forgetful that way.

IMG_0233Sprinkle on the Italian Seasoning.

IMG_0236Pour in enough water to cover the bottom. Maybe an inch of water.

IMG_0238Place the steak on top.

Cover and turn crock pot on low. I let mine cook for 8-10 hours.

IMG_0246Oh. My. Goodness! The steak turned out so tender we didn’t even need a knife to cut it. The Italian seasoning gave it the perfect flavor. The potatoes and carrots were just as tender as the steak. The crescent rolls were just the right thing to go with the meal.

I was worried that one steak wouldn’t be enough for MM and me, but we were stuffed with just half a steak and the vegetables.

Not only was this a tasty meal, but inexpensive as well. The steak cost around $3.50. Divided by two people that’s $1.75 a person. Two potatoes and a handful of carrots can’t be more than $1.00. I think a meal for less than $3.00 is pretty good!

Hope you enjoy this. What do you like to cook in the crock pot? I love for you to share!
